Chichester Chamber Concerts and YCAT

Chichester Chamber Concerts has frequently show-cased young musicians from The Young Classical Artists Trust.  This splendid organisation auditions musicians every year as they emerge from the conservatoires and selects the best to join its roster.  Founded in 1984, the Young Classical Artists Trust is a specialist charity that identifies, nurtures and supports musicians early in their careers and enables them to become self-supporting.

In Chichester we have enjoyed performances by:

Castalian Quartet, pianist Daniel Lebhardt, Heath Quartet, violinist Thomas Gould, Sacconi Quartet and many more since our first concert in 2006.

In these difficult times of lockdown when all concerts have been cancelled, YCAT has launched a Hardship Fund to support its musicians. CCC has made a contribution to this fund along with many others, both individuals and groups.

A comment from Thomas Gould, solo violinist and leader of the Britten Sinfonia:

Musicians need concerts, but to get concerts you need to be well known, and to be well known, you need concerts. Solving this catch-22 situation is YCAT’s Raison d'être. YCAT gives artists a stamp of quality and seal of approval in the industry”.
